Zoom yourself in self drive cars - Zoomcar.in

By end of March,  we, family of three friends were planning for a trip.  To avoid travelling in multiple cars, we were on a lookout for a bigger car which can accommodate all three families.  We preferred self drive cars than the taxis/cab just to avoid giving one seat to the cab driver.  We got to know about ZoomCars during that time.

Though we could not use Zoom's service at that time, I have been a regular visitor to zoom's website (zoomcar.in) on a regular basis.  My desire to rent a car from Zoom has grown with time and finally got a chance to rent one in May.  Zoom offered a mouth watering discount for my first booking and I booked the car the next day after seeing the email.

I have rented Vento and City so far and I am a happy customer of Zoom Cars.  Vehicles were available on time and the condition of vehicles were also good.  Looking forward to try some more zoom cars in the future.

Pros :
  • Renting process is simple and straight forward.  All online, very less paper work (only one signature infact), no cash transaction.
  • Vehicle pickup and drop are as easy as the booking process.  It takes less than 10 mins in both the occasions when I rented the vehicles.
  • Zoom provides additional discount as well.
  • Tariff are comparable with other rental companies like carzonrent during weekdays and costlier on weekends.  There are some free kms with Zoom though for all bookings.
  • They are very active in social networking sites and hence it is pretty easy to connect to them.
  • Vehicles are available in hourly rental as well.
  • All refunds are prompt and quick.
  • Customer care and fleet executives are very responsive.
  • Good number of pickup/drop locations in Bangalore.
  • BMW 3 series and Mercedes A-class cars in their fleet.
Cons :
  • Costlier weekend tariffs.
  • Weekends are always fully booked.
  • You need to plan in advance for any weekend trips.
  • Extending the booking depends purely on the availability of the car.
  • There is no full time 7/8 seaters like Innova or Xylo.

I have a petrol hatchback.  I decide between my car & Zoom car based on the expenses (if it matches or less than my car's expenses) and based on the need (more people/luggage to accommodate in the travel).

Any day, I will recommend ZoomCar to others for their simple, transparent process.
